Trollbeads Day 2022 Delivers BIG WOW Factor

Troll Agates stun while stock images/marketing leaves everyone a bit confused.

It happened again: Trollbeads knocked it out of the park with a special release. Much like the Brush of Blue or Wings of Amber I don’t believe these gorgeous beads will be in the shop for very long, but I was happy to get to play with them a bit before filling orders. *As of writing this blog post I only have 20 Agates in store so if you must have one I suggest you act very soon*.

Because you came here for the inside scoop I am going to try my best to give you some details on the Troll Agate that may have been confusing or misleading. When I first spoke to someone about how to go about ordering my Troll Agates I was told that the singles were all going to look like the stock image and where you would find the variation of color would be in the kits. I have never been a fan of making someone spend the $$$ on a kit if they don’t want to so I ordered a bunch of everything with the intention of splitting it all up so people could purchase exactly the beads they wanted. Can I tell you that when I received my beads I actually laughed? Not one of any of them looked anything like the first stock image I saw (pictured below).

The confusion around what colors were available began there. I have had so many requests for a Red Troll Agate you would not believe. I have had over 100 Troll Agates in the store with not a single one clearly red or green (another common request). The majority of the beads I have received are in the purple/blue/sunset-y pink family, and I do wonder there was an official photo that looks nothing like what I am able to provide my customers. Do I love these beads? Yes! Do I wish there had been consistent messaging and clarity in this release? Also yes.

Personally, I don’t see why more images like these were not used for marketing this bead. The beads themselves are truly beautiful and a bit more consistent, making them very easy to use with your existing collection. I can’t wait to see someone use these with the Sand Beach kit beads, or with a whole range of Strength of Sunset beads or Forest Mists, or maybe just sandwich them in between a bunch of pearls (swoon) or maybe even some Visions of Light.

Perhaps I should be reminding myself and you that these beads, though called Troll Agates are made of glass and thus have HUGE variation. Perhaps the lesson here should be that if you have a specific color in mind when shopping for Trollbeads you should find a store or website who is willing to work with you to find the right shade.
