Trollbeads Carp Koi Pendant and Trollbeads Carp Koi on a Fantasy Necklace

When I saw the preview image for the Carp Koi release I was sooooo excited. And when I unpacked the beads from their box? I was delighted! The silver bead/pendant can be used not just on a fantasy necklace (as it is shown in Trollbeads stock images), but on a bracelet as well, without looking awkward like some pendants often do when they’re on a bracelet. This bead is gonna be easy to use (even on a bangle). Also worth mentioning is that the price is fantastic for the amount of bead you get. All in all, I’m extremely pleased with the execution, aesthetics, and functionality of this bead!

As for this lovely glass Trollbead, the Carp Koi bead, I am a BIG fan. However, I did have a bit of a tricky time “matching” the blue/teal/turquoise color in it. I actually thought I had nailed it, and knew exactly what color it was until I took this bracelet outside to take some photos of it. Here you can see that this blue is different than the ice blue diamond, which I thought was going to be a perfect match. Is it a large difference? No. But for those of us who love a “true” color match this one is going to take a lot of creativity. I am really excited to see how other collectors and content makers use this bead.

I’m also very enthusiastic about this release because of the symbology represented here. Known to swim against the current and to overcome great adversity, koi symbolize strength, courage, patience, and success through perseverance. Koi are also known to grow very large and live a very long life, so often in Japanese culture they are used as a symbol of prosperity, longevity and good luck.

Are the Carp Koi beads going to be a welcome addition to your collection? How do you plan on wearing yours?
