Trollbeads has released maybe (maybe?) it’s largest release yet! It’s so big, there are beads that I’m not even going to write much about in this post (don’t worry a second blog post is coming soon). For this first post I wanted to highlight beads from the two glass kits and some of the beautiful silver pieces. Oh, and one of the new stones, that you can bet you’ll be seeing me use quite often.

Within this collection, as within many prior releases, there seems to be multiple themes cohabitating. Within the silver there are lizards, honeybees and mandalas. Which are all lovely, but I do wonder if I’m missing the intended unifying theme here. Why release all of these at the same time instead of going a bit further with one of these three themes? I think they are all rich subjects for beautiful beads, yet I wonder if they will soon have additional beads in the collection to build on these three topics.

There are other silver beads that don’t seem to fit within any of these three themes, notably this adorable cat. This friend is perfect for Halloween and I wonder if it’s appearance here means we will not be getting a Halloween bead this year. There is also a little bird that is completely unrelated to the other beads. Maybe the cat should be climbing a fantasy necklace to catch the bird?

The glass beads from this release are quite varied. I love a few of them and totally appreciate that you can easily mix beads from the 2 kits. That is not always easy within a release! Some of my favorite glass for everyday use from these two kits are Coral Flower Decor, Gracious Reeds, and the Green and Purple Fields. I love the little friends, but I don’t always use glass animals on my jewelry, but know some particular animals have been vastly popular before ( I am thinking of this Christmas release in particular).

And as a surprise to no one who has read any of my past blog posts, my absolute favorite bead from this collection is a faceted stone in a jewel tone! Although I was’t so excited about the Red Jasper based on the photos, I absolutely adore it now that it’s in my hands! Even though I tend to not use much red on my bracelets, I do have quite a bit of purple. I think with the help of Purple Fields I can easily put Red Jasper into my mix! Then I might get crazy and throw a Coral Flower Decor on too! Isn’t it funny how your designs can take shape in ways you didn’t anticipate?

Just being a quick recap of part of this release I will wrap up by giving you the list of beads I think are a must from this collection. 1.) Something from the porcelain group. I love the Giving Seed and the Hearty Pumpkin myself, but might go nuts and get them all for a future bracelet. I’ll be writing a separate blog post for these beads, because they deserve it! 2.) On Top– Such a great bead and super easy to work into pretty much any design you already have. 3.) Red Jasper– I already had my moment to wax poetic about this bead, but it is very beautiful in person and another easy one to incorporate into existing designs. 4.) Chili Spacer– This spacer is not in the photos above, but will be in the upcoming blog post. I love how the actual chilis are a bit of a surprise in the design. At first glace this just looks like a cute spacer, but if you look closer the little lines composing the design are all tiny chilis. Very cute. 5.) All the locks– Ok- I know that is quite a bit to recommend but the design on all of them is lovely and they are all easy to use. 6.) The Harvest Kit– There are too many good beads in here to pass up.

What are your “must haves” from this collection? Are you a big fan of the glass beads or have the porcelain beads distracted you? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

  1. So much choice and limited on pocket so I will have to space them out over the coming months. I love the red Jasper, I have a ginger cat named Jasper so that is a must. Also I loved the brush of blue so I have bought 4 of the Harvest porcelain beads, the remaining two next month. I have both animal glass but also distracted by the peoples beads. I will be getting the cat silver and lizard spacer and lock at some time and there is more
as the other glass beads do appeal.

    1. Jane- I love that the Jasper will be so meaningful to you! My next post will be about the porcelain beads- they are so great they needed their own post!

  2. My favorite is “everlasting unity” and
I like the glass beads best because they have names, I think, but I look at them all.
    I love my bracelets.

  3. Is the Pastel Flower Decor glass bead really “pale?”
It’s pretty but wonder if it will go with other beads very easily.
I don’t have a Trollbeads store in my City, so can’t view it in person. 🙁
