Trollbeads Love Stories: Spring 2020 Review
It may feel like winter here in the Northeastern US, but Trollbeads Spring 2020 is about to launch, and I could not be more excited! 1.) The collection is amazing, 2.) it is released on my birthday! How fun is that? I am really excited to share my take on these beads with you so lets get right into it!
I am really happy to report that this new collection is very well rounded. The silver is great, the glass is lovely and the colors of the glass are very easy to use with their kit companions (unlike some releases we have seen in the past). Above I have an image with the Joyful flowers, which to me are a great addition to the collection for several reasons. First, the shape of the bead lends its self quite nicely to be a “cap” bead for either end of a bracelet and I love using certain silver for that purpose. Second, if you look closely you can see that there is a reason that it’s called Joyful Flowers – all the flowers have smiling sun-turned faces! Such a sweet detail. Lastly, this bead works well for a necklace, as well as a bracelet – a bit smaller than the Apple Blossom pendant, but with a similar flower shape.
Okay, so let’s now take a minute to talk glass beads. As per usual Spring/Fall releases there are 2 complete glass kits in the Love Stories release. One, the Love Stories Kit, is more design based with 3 beads featuring a copper swirl pattern and 3 beads featuring a broken line design in tropical punchy colors. The Love Song Kit is more nature themed, with birds and floral designs. All the beads in the kits are on a pastel back ground. There is one straggler bead that is not paired in a kit, White Roses. This bead reminds me a bit of the Mother’s Rose, the hard to find and much desired glass bead from Mother’s Day 2015.
Sadly these beads did not arrive in time to take cute inspiration images, but that just gives me reason to write another post!
The silver beads, as a collection are quite a bit more inspiring for me than the last silver release or two. Both the flow lock and the lady bug lock are beautiful, well rendered and easy to use. The Lady Bug lock is so charming, that I pulled that item first from the collection – and generally my first pick is always glass.

No Trollbeads Akron season release review would be complete without my top 10 (aka- the things I am taking home with me)!
1.) Ladybugs Lock – as I stated before this is so very charming! I have to have one which will be accompanied by… 2.) Ladybugs – I like this so much more than the original flat ladybug. And ladybugs are supposed to be lucky, and I can use all the luck I can get! 3.) Flow – It is not super common for me to include so much silver in my top 3, but this is so lovely and I think it’s going to look amazing with my Silver Whorl 4.) Innocence – I really don’t think I own a bracelet this wouldn’t look amazing on, so I may end up with more than one. 5.) Home – I am a total home body anymore and I love this sweet simple design. 6.) Feldspar Quartz Rock – So pretty and interesting in person, I have no idea what I am going to do with this bead, but I know it will end up being pretty neat! 7.) Aisle of Passion – Is it a great name? That is up for debate. Is it beautiful in person? Absolutely! 8.) Aisle of Luck – Ditto above 9.) A set of Joyful Flower – I am thinking maybe on a copper bangle flanking the Feldspar Quartz Rock? I love how these flowers’ sweet faces appear to be upturned and smiling at the sun. 10.) Evolution Spacer – This spacer I had not yet mentioned in the post, but I’d be remiss to neglect it. I am not usually a user of design spacers, but this subtle design taking a frog from egg to adult is really well done and a timely release for me.
