Trollbeads: Inspired by Nature + Big News!
As an artist I am always trying to seek out my next creative outlet. For the holidays I received a book that focuses on drawing modern floral designs. Inside the pages there are beautiful anemones, flourishing succulents and all of the wild flowers you can dream of. Through trial and error I’ve found my groove with pen and paper to design the plants I love so much. Though this medium inspiration has been sparked for my Trollbeads designs. Pairing deep forest greens with pops of ruby and pastels help me to translate the color combinations of succulents and floral into these bracelets.
Do you know about air plants? There are actually over 600 types of these lovely low maintenance members of the plant world. They require a soak in water once a week and then happily live their lives, without any need for soil! When I was designing a bracelet that mirrored this laid back, low maintenance style I thought – less is more. With only three glass beads I was able to achieve a gradient of pale pinks to earthy greens that are both sophisticated and casual.
Cacti and succulents have found their way into the hearts and homes of many. I’ve myself am becoming one of those crazy plant ladies who tends to her succulents as if they were pets. Deep amber tones, copper and green all embody the beauty of these little plants. I love seeing the flow between yellow and green to create a naturally beautiful bangle for just about any occasion.
Deep tones still remind me of the spring time. Even when the rain comes I am still happy to feel the warmth of a new season. Light greens, deep reds and multicolored hues bring a leather bracelet a touch of feminine beauty. Pairing this with other bracelets or a watch enhances the stack and is one of my favorite ways to style my wrist.
