Trollbeads Golden Nightfall: Autumn Release 2019
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Ok- well traditionally that is not a saying associated with Autumn but… Autumn truly is THE BEST! Crisp weather, big sweaters, pumpkin flavored things, Halloween and new Trollbeads! And these Trollbeads are pretty stellar. Let’s have a little look, shall we?
Every Fall and Spring, we can usually expect two glass kits and a bunch of silver charms, plus one or two locks and some spacers peppered in. This current Trollbeads Fall release is a little different, even though we still get two fantastic glass kits. The Nightfall Kit is full of rich and dark Autumnal colors, while The Daydream Kit is also inspired by Fall hues, but brighter.
Personally, I was drawn to the darker of the two glass kits at first. But once I started to play with some of the earth toned beads from The Daydream Kit I really warmed to it!
What I am really excited about in this Trollbeads release is the handful of new round stones! They are all stones I use often, with the exception of the Red Onyx, which is making its debut as a round Trollbead not having a faceted predecessor. I plan on collecting multiples of the Black Onyx, Tiger Eye and Amethyst, because they are so gorgeous and versatile.
I would be doing a major disservice in this blog post if I did not mention the Get Spooky Bead. If you liked the Trick or Treat bead from a few years ago, you are going to love this new bead! In this little Halloween work of art, spooky images are inlayed on a black background, making each rendering super crisp and clear. No blurry characters here! I know many Trollbeads fans are also big Halloween fans, so I have to tell you that this bead is a limited edition bead and, like the Brush of Blue kit (if you remember) once it is gone it is gone forever.
Now for something I wouldn’t necessarily rave about. The Nature Girl Pendant (seen below) is no doubt beautiful, but she is not the easiest to use in a design. Because she is obviously a pendant I assumed she could be used as a splitter, but that does not seem to be the case here. Nature Girl is also a bit top heavy, so it doesn’t always sit just right on a Fantasy Necklace, even though that is the only carrier it seems to work with. I was really looking forward to this one (plus the earrings that match are amazing), but for my collection it is going to be a skip.
So what do I like? Here is my short list of my absolute must haves from this collection: 1.) Get Spooky– It’s a must- mean, I love Halloween and this bead is so well done. Unfortunately this is not a color story that is going to fit in my day to day Trollbeads designs, but I like it enough that i’m going to have to make it work. These four beads from the Nightfall kit I LOVE. 2.) Flowers of Poise– This bead is gorgeous and I have not been surprised that we flew through our first order of them within minutes of putting them up on the site. Don’t worry – we are getting plenty more and will and will keep them well stocked going forward. 3.) Flowers of Passion– This bead is just as beautiful as the other floral bead from the same kit- it only comes in second for me because the contrast is not as striking as Flowers of Poise. 4.) Golden Poppies– This little beauty is so sweet with the autumnal color pallet of the Nightfall kit. I probably wont be getting multiples of this one for myself because I generally use more earth tones and the white background can either work well or stand out a bit too much. 5.) Golden Foilage– I LOVE the backdrop on this bead! If you look closely, it’s slightly metallic core is so special. 6.)Leaves of Grace- Bring me all the leaves beads. I want them all. In multiples. 7.) ALL the Rounds– I love them and I use all the summer rounds, so I know these won’t go unloved. 12.) Framed By Nature- Not sure if I really need this and the Troll Anemone- but we will just have to see… 13.) Flower Wreath – This might not be a bead that stands out from the collection, but on a bracelet it’s actually very sweet. 14.) Lock of Leaves – See #6
So what are you going to add to your Trollbeads collection? Do you feel like the silver beads are lackluster in this collection? I think I am safe in saying that it was not their strongest showing in the silver department. Is anyone missing spacers? I would take the round stones over the spacers pretty much any day, if I had to choose one or the other. We would love to hear what you are thinking about the new release!
