Trollbeads Dolphin Delight- Summer 2022
Trollbeads Insider is back! Thanks to a pep talk from one of our dear friends/ long time customers (You know who you are) I am feeling inspired to get back to blogging my thoughts on what is happening in the world of Trollbeads. We are getting back into gear with the summer 2022 collection, Dolphin Delight. Perhaps i’s because I live in a land locked place that I am really surprised to see even more Trollbeads’ dolphins designs being added to the collection. Don’t get me wrong, these beads are really really lovely, and I certainly have some “must have” glass beads picked out. However, I just don’t think there is any more space for these majestic mammals on my bracelets. That being said, I’m looking forward to seeing some fresh ideas in future Trollbeads collections.
My Must Haves From Dolphin Delights Collection:
1.) Seaweed Spacers: I would elect for a set- they are great for a bangle, not too big or distracting, and the design adds a little eye-catching depth.
2.) Crushing Waves: My favorite item from this collection. I love the periwinkle color and can’t wait to pair it with some tiger eye or the Rocky Beach glass kit.
3.) Sea View: When it comes to charm bracelets, I’m a Trollbeads purist, (unless of course someone I love gifts me a bead from another brand). So I was delighted to see this design, perhaps familiar to bead collectors who buy from multiple brands, come from Troll. I think the color will be a big hit with collectors missing some of the older light blue hues we haven’t seen in a while.
4.) Azure Ripples: Growing up, my best friend had a pool where I spent a good chunk of my pre-teen leisure time. When I first saw this bead, I was struck with a wave of nostalgia as I recalled the cool blue water during those sunny, sweltering days… think 90s music, sunscreen, Sun-in and popsicles melting all over your hands.
5.) Treasure Cave: reminiscent of a crushing wave, this bead’s color is lovely, and will make an easy addition to any aquatic themed look, or serve as a meaningful beach trip reminder.
6.) Ocean Life: I love the use of rich color in this bead. As you may know from reading previous blog entries, I am a big fan of deep greens and this has a particular shade that you don’t often see used in Trollbeads glass (anyone else miss Lake Eye?).
An item I will be skipping is the Dolphin Fun Clasp, which can be seen in the photo above. I think this was a great idea, Dolphins playfully jumping through the waves and giving each other kisses but the execution does not allow for the clasp to latch nicely onto the bracelet without some effort with a pair of needle nose pliers (which is an easy fix if you love this design and would like to wear this clasp). I would not suggest this lock for leather bracelet use.
To summarize I think this collection is quite impressive, given its size. Great colors in the glass, nice silvers, and a sweet idea for the lock. What are your thoughts on this collection? Which beads do you think are hits or misses from this collection? I would love to hear!
Thanks Heather for reviving your Trollbeads Insider blog!
Have always liked the way you name the beads shown in
the various photos and the design of older beads with new ones.
Best regards during these challenging times,
