Embracing your Travel Bug with Trollbeads World Tour Beads

Trollbeads Akron explores the world with the help of World Tour Trollbeads

As a travel addict I am constantly trying to find SMALL items to bring home with me from my travels. My current favorites are a pair of earrings from Nice, a sea glass necklace from a little island in Greece and of course, a Trollbead. (Have you been reading our Instagram posts? Can you guess which one?) Trollbeads World Tour beads appeared on the scene in 2010, but when they were first introduced there was a bit of a catch. You could only get beads from the 13 countries in the bead’s “home” country. So instead of having all the World Tour beads at our disposal we just had the Pursuit of Happiness, Old West, White House and Star Spangled. Within a few months after their launch, all the beads were available to us and they have been big favorites ever since.

Unfortunately, we have gotten word from Trollbeads Corporate that the World Tour beads will be retiring and will no longer be in production or available  for us to order after this August. So as a little farewell and to prepare you for the news, we thought we would put some inspiration photos together and show you how we use our World Tour Beads!

Something I really love about the World Tour Collection is its variety of colors. It’s so easy to do very “soft” color palettes with them, or conversely, to really go bold. The Blooming Sakura and Skyline have been the favorites in our store, but I also have a very big soft spot for the Pocket Watch, Van Gogh and the Mountain Crystal too.

The African Pride bead is a total show stopper, but don’t overlook the other beads in the African collection, as they are all gorgeous. The Seed Bead and Drum Beat make regular appearances on my wrist. For a very easy summer look I like to put them all on a leather bracelet and go!

Isn’t this bracelet fun! I love the bold colors! The back drop is actually a map we got for our rental car in Greece last year! #travelinspiration

This backdrop was my ticket to Canada! I can’t wait to go again, but there are so many other places I want to go that choosing a destination can be quite difficult. What is your favorite vacation spot? Does Trollbeads do a bead for that place? Currently my favorite vacation spot is without a bead, but I substitute the Blue Ocean, Beach, love goat (there were goats all over the islands!) and wine harvest for my own mini Greece collection (I would love to see TB do a mini Acropolis) !

  1. Thanks for the blog post. It’s great to see the World Tour beads in combination and alongside other beads… so much choice. Van Gogh is next on my purchase list. I hadn’t really paid much attention to the African Pride but it looks stunning on the necklace. Another one to think about before the retirement deadline.
What’s missing for me? The Caribbean. Think sparkling blue sea, golden sand, bright exotic flowers and of course Carnival!

  2. Thanks for the blog post. It’s really lovely to see so many of the Word Tour beads in combination with each other rather than as a set – so if you can come up with some more of those images that would be lovely. I hadn’t appreciated how amazing the African Pride bead was until I saw it on your necklace design. Show stopper indeed.
My favourites so far have been glass – the Blooming Sakura and Australian Barrier Reef. And for suggestions of new holiday destinations, I would love the Caribbean. Thinking of crystal blue seas, dazzling white beaches, tropical flowers and of course carnival!
