The holidays may not quite be here- but a little thing like that would not stop Trollbeads from putting out some gorgeous holiday inspired beads. There are some lovely themes in this release, Christmas Nostalgia and Stars being the most notable.

This years release is a bit different from most holidays past, having only one glass kit with production beads ( Winter Forest)  and two different color themes of holiday unique glass beads. As a business owner I was personally a bit concerned about selling the Winter Forest beads independently. At the store we have this debate almost every year and the majority of the time we do end up breaking kits apart. Our hesitation comes from the inability to order beads independently from Trollbeads themselves, so this year we ordered a number of kits and listed their beads individually. After these beads are gone we will not be breaking any more kits until the number of beads sold evens out. We want people to be able to afford the beads they want and love, and not have beads they are not crazy about, but we also have to have sustainable business practices. So I do encourage you to buy your individual beads of choice from the Winter Forest Kit ASAP.

Let’s talk about the Wishful Sky Bracelet for a moment, shall we? I must say, I have really enjoyed many starter bracelets- but this one has de-throned the Lucky Friends as my FAVORITE starter bracelet I have ever seen Troll release. Not only is it lovely, but very affordable. The bracelet features 3 items you can only get with the purchase of the starter bracelet, a beautiful blue shimmer faceted glass bead, a small silver bead that looks like a shooting star and the star lock. Though the star is a very prominent part of the lock I have been wearing mine for over a week and have not had any issues with poking like I did with the crown rings. Also worth noting is that the blue of this bead can be a little tricky to match perfectly, I have had the best luck with uniques and some of the blue hematite.

This release has had a lot of attention for its beautiful glass and exciting starter bracelet, but I do hope everyone takes a moment to appreciate the silver in this release as well. There are 3 fun new spacers ( which I plan of featuring in a later post), some smaller silvers and some beads that will be “feature” beads in the middle of my bangles.

Two of my favorite of the silver beads from this collection have designs were you can see the chain when worn a certain way. The Inside Love and the Guiding Star would look AMAZING on any gold chain you may have and certainly have me thinking about adding a gold bracelet to my collection. I am totally enamored with the Guiding Star because you can thread it either way on your bracelet OR wear it as a splitter on a fantasy necklace. I love beads that can do double or triple duty!

Another bead I plan of making a “feature” on some of my designs is the Momentum. This design may not quite fit with a holiday theme, but I love it. I think the size is just right, a bit on the larger size, but in no way overpowering as you can see above next to the glass beads.
