People’s Choice Bead 2018: Northern Lights Magic Review
I don’t know about you, but I am patiently awaiting the day when I can see the Northern Lights. For perhaps the last 3 years, Justin and I have been tossing around the idea of a trip to Iceland, hoping for a chance to see this wonder. So the question is do I put this on my travel bracelet now in anticipation of seeing this natural phenomenon, or do I wait until I’ve actually visited Iceland? Either way, I am certainly going to need one (or 3) of this fantastic bead.
When I opened the Trollbeads email for retailers, announcing the People’s Choice bead this year, the first words out of my mouth were “Oh Boy!”. Which sounds a bit hokey- but I swear thats what I said. And the great news? It’s even better in person. Alright- so maybe that is my opinion, but I think that is often the case with faceted glass beads. I see the photo and I think “oh, that is nice, people will like that,” and then when I see it in person I have more of a “WOW!” reaction.
I do find that this bead is a bit darker in person than in the stock image photos that Trollbeads has released, but I like that. I also feel that at first blush this bead looks like a precious stone. But that’s not a problem since I am totally crazy about all the stones in the Trollbeads collection, which you will easily discover when you read some of our earlier blog posts.
My final review of the 2018 Trollbeads People’s Bead? It is gorgeous, and a bit more subtle than I expected. Northern Lights Magic is the perfect name for this bead, since it is surprising and beautiful, as I imagine the Northern Lights will be when I see them in person. What are your first impressions of the Northern Lights Magic bead? Did you pre-order? Are you waiting on live images of each bead? Do you have questions about styling? Most importantly – do you have travels tips for seeing the Northern Lights? Let us know in the comments below!
I was fortunate to see the Northern Lights while in Sweden, twenty or so years ago.
I can’t wait to see this bead in person.
I would get the bead and wear it on your trip. My opinion is that although this is a beautiful bead, it is nothing like seeing that sky in person.
